Reading & Writing Update #28 – July 16th, 2025

Reading

I didn’t finish any books this past week, but I made progress in both of the ones I’m in the middle of.

I’m 90% of the way through A Memory of Light by Robert Jordan. It’s very possible I’ll finish it today or tomorrow. I’ll reserve any thoughts until next week.

I’m also about halfway through The Grace of Kings by Ken Liu. Like I mentioned last week, this book is exposition-heavy, which means large blocks of text. That makes the reading experience slower. I might have this one done by next week as well. Then I’ll be able to talk about it.

Up next, I’m hoping to listen to The Word For World is Forest by Ursula K LeGuin followed by Firestarter by Stephen King. After The Grace of Kings, I’m hoping to pull a shorter work off my shelf.

Writing

This week’s progress was better than last week’s. I’ve made progress in both my story re-write and my novel outline. Nothing more to report here other than that. Sorry for the lean week.
